Benefits Of Cannabidiol
The cannabis plant contains 2 essential ingredients, to which it yields its benefits. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). The first is the most well-known substance and it is the one responsible for the euphoria and the feeling of relaxation. The second, less well known, is CBD and is a highly beneficial ingredient for our body.
Hundreds of studies have been conducted, which have found a wide range of diseases that can be treated with the therapeutic property of cannabidiol.
Below we will look at the benefits of cannabidiol in a wide range of conditions:
Anxiety and Stress – Anxiety disorders can have many forms, up to extreme points, such as agoraphobia and post-traumatic stress. Relief from anxiety symptoms is the most well-known effect that cannabidiol has on the body.
There are many studies that demonstrate the role of cannabidiol in reducing anxiety. In fact, a study in 2015 showed that cannabidiol can be an effective treatment for anxiety, such as panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Depression – Depression is one of the most common diseases nowadays and can lead to isolation, emotional changes and sudden behavior changes. A study in 2016 showed that cannabidol can specifically reduce the condition of anesthesia, where the patient cannot feel joy and pleasure.
Nausea – The unpleasant feeling of nausea can be caused either by bacteria and viruses in the body, or even as a side effect of chemotherapy. Cannabis has been used effectively in the treatment of nausea for centuries, and cannabidiol can naturally help the body with symptoms of dizziness and vomiting.
Epilepsy – The contribution of cannabidiol in the treatment of epileptic seizures has been great, as it has long been researched and has even helped young children suffering from epileptic seizures, especially Dravetsyndrome. Dravetsyndrome is one of the most malignant in childhood, as it occurs extremely early in a child’s life (younger than 1 year) and has not been able to pinpoint the cause. In 2013 a survey was conducted on children with epilepsy and the result was impressive. 84% of the children cases in the study had been significantly reduced by the use of cannabidiol.
Diabetes – Diabetes is a chronic condition that can cause serious problems with time, in the heart, brain and kidneys. Diabetes is also directly linked to inflammations that cause and aggravate the disease. In studies done, it has been shown that cannabidiol can protect the body against diabetes by stimulating the immune system and reducing inflammatory areas.
Schizophrenia – Studies in people with schizophrenia symptoms have shown that cannabidiol can cure this disease and many other psychotic forms. A 2013 study found that cannabidiol helps treat hallucinations and treat symptoms of behavioral problems.
Alzheimer’s Disease – Studies have shown the ability of cannabidol to help the growth of healthy cells lost in people with Alzheimer’s disease. It has also been shown that cannabidol is able to prevent symptoms and prevent their progression.
Parkinson’s disease – It has been scientifically proven that cannabidol can treat some of the symptoms and side effects of Parkinson’s disease. In a 2014 study, it was shown that cannabidol can alleviate the symptoms of sleep disorder.
Cancer – Cannabis is widely used in the treatment of cancer symptoms and in particular in the reduction of nausea and vomiting by chemotherapy. Recent studies have suggested a radical view that cannabidol can prevent the spread of cancer cells in the body. In 2012, a study showed that cannabidiol retarded the growth of cancerous tumors as it delayed the creation of new vessels in them.
Cardiovascular Disease – A 2010 study found that cannabidiol was essentially protecting heart vessels when blood flow to the heart was blocked, as is the case in obesity. The researchers noted that cannabidiol had stopped cardiac arrhythmia and reduced the damage caused by the lack of oxygen.
Arthritis – Research has shown that topical cannabidiol-based skin products can improve the symptoms of arthritis pain. These products are applied topically to areas where there is a problem and are absorbed by the skin directly to the point of pain or inflammation.
Liver Disease – In liver disease the toxins remain in the blood and this can then cause additional damage to other organs, such as the brain. According to research done in 2011 and a recent one in 2017, cannabidiol can reduce the rate of damage to the nervous system caused by renal failure. It was also observed that liver function was largely restored and brain function stabilized. It has also been found that cannabidiol can effectively prevent the spread of hepatitis C by up to 86.4%
Multiple sclerosis – In 2016, people with moderate to severe multiple sclerosis were investigated and found to have reduced symptoms of spasticity, even in cases where symptoms did not recede with other drugs.
Nicotine Dependence – In a study conducted in 2013, 24 smokers were given a cannabidiol atomizer to use as a cigarette substitute whenever they felt they wanted to smoke. Within a week of using inhaled cannabidol their nicotine dependence decreased by 40%.
Craniocerebral Injuries – Recent studies have shown that cannabidiol has a kind of natural neuroprotection in the brain that protects the nerves in cases of injury and even reduces scar tissue and its formation.
